Where Are the Worst Drivers?

According to a Yahoo! Autos article, the worst drivers live in New York! The bottom five including New York: New Jersey, Hawaii, California and Georgia.

GMAC Insurance released the results of its National Drivers Test for 2009. The test, which was given to more than 5,000 people, covers basic knowledge of driving laws. The results were not too good - in a press release from GMAC, "results from the 2009 GMAC Insurance National Drivers Test... found that 20.1 percent of licensed drivers - amounting to roughly 41 million drivers on the road - would not pass a written drivers test exam it taken today."

Another interesting find from the test showed that the older the driver the better the test score. Drivers who were over 35 years of age were more likely to pass than those under 35. Try it yourself, go to the National Drivers Test and see what score you get. When your finished, GMAC has a few video games you can play.

10 Blogging Tips from Chris Brogan

If you are new to the blogosphere then Chris Brogan's blog is a must read. I've gotten a lot of help and encouragement from his articles, and they have helped me be a little more refined in my blog articles.

Here are his 10 tips for blogging that I find are extremely helpful:
  1. Write to be helpful.
  2. Be Brief.
  3. Tell a story.
  4. Connect others, if appropriate.
  5. Share. Often.
  6. Don't over think it (it's not a dissertation).
  7. But be thoughtful.
  8. Don't be mean.
  9. Publish often enough to build a relationship.
  10. But be mindful of your audience's time.
Talk about common sense. So easy - it's hard to remember. Are there other tips that should be added?

Need Some Help at the Pump?

Just saw a report on this morning's Fox and Friends about saving money at the gas pump. Here are the tips that will help you out this holiday weekend:
  1. Fill up the gas tank in the morning - gas is more dense in the morning.
  2. Fill up at the half-way mark - you get better gas mileage and a truer tank of gas.
  3. Don't fill up when the gas tanker truck is at the station.
  4. Put nitrogen in your tires; make sure you keep your tires inflated.
Just a few tips that could save you a couple of bucks a week. Another tip that wasn't mentioned in the report is to watch your speed. I know from experience that traveling at the speed limit or a little slower save a ton of gas. Have a great holiday weekend!!
