When Followers Lose Confidence in Leadership

It's always a lot of fun to have John Hull, president of Equip, on the air during the Morning Show. This week we talked about the senate race in Massachusetts and the huge win for the Republican party. John discussed what happens when we lose confidence in our leaders.

John also gave us an update on the Equip training in Haiti. If you didn't catch the show last week, Equip was conducting leadership training at the time of the earthquake. An inspiring story.

The Book of the Shepherd

Not too long ago I received an interesting little book entitled The Book of the Shepherd: The Story of One Simple Prayer and How it Changed the World. I was pretty intrgued at the title and so I began reading it. I couldn't put it down and read through it in one sitting. Now I must tell you that it's a small book and written fairly simply, but the message was very powerfull.

I had the chance this week to talk with the author of this book, Joann Davis. She is the author of nine books which include: The Best Things in Life Aren't Things, What I Love Most About You and A Friend is a Gift. This book, her latest, is based on a simple prayer called "The Peace Prayer." It was made into a hymn and sung at Princess Diana's funeral.

Do You Want a "Bod 4 God"?

I had the chance to talk with Pastor Steve Reynolds about his new book Bod4God. Steve is the senior pastor of Capital Baptist Church in Annandale, VA. He launched a weight-loss campaign in his church and community after he lost more than 100 pounds. He has been featured on FOX News, CNN, the Washington Post and the Chicago Tribune.

Kaiser Family Foundation and Media Use

If your kids are like mine they probably spend a lot of time either playing video games or sitting at the computer. The Kaiser Family Foundation as just released it's report of media consumption by children ages 8 to 18. The findings are pretty interesting. The biggest finding is that kids are using media entertainment 7.5 hours PER DAY!! This includes video games, mp3 players, TV, etc. I found that to be a bit excessive. That's almost as much time I spend at work! For more information on the report click the link below.

Dennis Prager : Is America Still Making Men? - Townhall.com

One of the biggest questions that, at times, keeps me up at night is, "Am I being a good father to my son? Will he become a man of great character?" I was thinking this very question Sunday evening as I was listening to other parents of sons. This article by Dennis Prager I found very interesting and I thought I would share it with you. We all have responsibility to helping make "Men" for our country.
