The Barna Group - Jesus

It's hard to not hear about health care, especially since the President has made the rounds on the Sunday morning talk shows (except for Fox News Sunday) and he will be on Letterman tonight. Health care is a huge topic but not a new one. The Gospel of Luke was written by a physician.

The Barna Group has recently published a piece on Jesus' health care plan that I found to be quite interesting and worth the read. Click below and then let me know your thoughts.

American Vice: Mapping the 7 Deadly Sins

How do you think the United States stands regarding the 7 Deadly Sins? You know: greed, envy, sloth, wrath, gluttony, lust, and pride.

A group from Kansas State has formulated a map that charts out where each one of the 7 deadly sins ranks in the United States. I think it's pretty interesting.

The Gospel for iGens | Out of Ur | Conversations for Ministry Leaders

Found this article this morning that caused me to think about how we share our faith to today's generation. What are your thoughts? Does our methods still work with a generation that doesn't feel guilty about much of anything?

Dale Vermillion on The Morning Show

Dale Vermillion joined me on the show this morning to talk about the latest in mortgage and finance news.
  1. Rates hold Steady Still – BankRate.com shows average 30 year rate down to 5.21a5 from 5.27% last week and 15 year fixed 4.68% vs. 4.72%

  2. Dodd Leans Toward One Agency for All Banks American Banker (09/01/09) Senate Banking Committee Chairman Chris Dodd, D-Conn., is working on a draft bill to reform the financial regulatory system in the hopes of getting it passed before year's end. The bill likely will create a single bank supervisory agency, taking such authority away from the Federal Reserve and the FDIC; establish an interagency council to oversee systemic risk; and create a consumer protection agency.

He also shared some encouraging Scripture when dealing with your finances:

  • Proverbs 3:18
Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her; happy are those who hold her tightly.

  • Matthew 6:34
So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
